Rubisel Cano, nacido en el Estado de Mexico, Ecatepec de Morelos. Su comienzo y motivación por hacer arte fue por razones políticas y de modo autodidacta. En 1996 comenzó a dibujar para publicaciones alternativas que se editaban dentro del movimiento punk activista de la Ciudad de México, mejor conocidas como fanzines. Desde entonces su lema es “Hazlo tu mism@ o muere” y con esta lógica sigue creando y aprendiendo.
Para el artista, el arte es un medio de difusión de ideas, también una forma de expresar emociones que las palabras no pueden descifrar, incluso un modo de romper la pesadez de la cotidianidad y crear mundos de libertad y magia en donde todo es posible. Sus influencias son el dadaismo, el surrealismo y la realidad en que vivimos.
Rubisel Cano, born in the State of Mexico, Ecatepec de Morelos. His initiation and motivation to make art was for political reasons and in a self-taught way. In 1996 he began to draw for alternative publications that were edited within the punk activist movement of Mexico City, better known as fanzines. Since then his motto is “Make it yourself or die” and with this logic he continues to create and learn.
For the artist, art is a means of spreading ideas, also a way of expressing emotions that words can not decipher, even a way to break the heaviness of everyday life and create worlds of freedom and magic where everything is possible. His influences are dadaism, surrealism and the reality in which we live.
